Contra and Traditional Dancing

My passion for dance goes back to the 1980s, when I participated in international folk dancing, contra dance, and Appalachian-style clogging in Corvallis, Oregon. During that time, I performed with the Marysville Cloggers there in Corvallis, taught beginning clogging classes and international folkdancing.
My experience teaching dance expanded in 1999 when I started calling for contra dances for Bend Community Contra Dance. In 2014, my wife, Renee, and I joined the local square dance club which is now called the High Desert Dancers. We also enjoy round dancing (cued ballroom dance). In 2017 I taught the club's beginner square dance session and have been teaching their mainstream level lessons since that time.
I call for many events in Central Oregon - square dancing at the Mainstream and Plus levels, contra dances, and dance party nights for local groups, schools and churches.
