Personal bio

My passion for dance goes back to the 1980s, when I participated in international folk dancing, contra dance, and Appalachian-style clogging in Corvallis, Oregon. During that time, I performed with the Marysville Cloggers and taught beginning clogging classes and taught some basic international folkdance.

My calling experience expanded in 1999 when I started calling for contra dances for Bend Community Contra Dance. In 2014 my wife and I joined the local square dance club which is now called the High Desert Dancers, where we also enjoy Round dance (cued ballroom dance). In 2017 I taught the beginner session and have been teaching their mainstream level lessons.

I call for many square dance events in Central Oregon at the Mainstream and Plus levels.
